Multiple Game of Thrones stars join Amazon’s thriller The Rig, Iwan Rheon channels Ramsay Bolton in a new voice role, and Septa Unella comes to Apple TV+.
Amazon has announced the cast of its six-part thriller series The Rig, and it has a few familiar faces. To start, Iain Glen will play one of the leads: Magnus MacMillan, the leader of a crew working on an offshore oil rig enveloped by a mysterious fog that cuts them off from the mainland.
Game of Thrones fans will recognize Glen as Jorah Mormont, Daenerys Targaryen’s ever-loyal right-hand man. And he’s not the only GoT vet in the cast. Owen Teale (Alliser Thorne) will play head driller Lars Hutton.
Really, the cast is quite large. Take a look:
There’s no release date for The Rig as of yet.
In other Game of Thrones celebrity news, PC Games N reports that Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) will play a new Legendary Lord in Total War: Warhammer 2: a Dark Elf beastmaster named Rakarth of Karond Kar. Listening to the voice clip for the character, you get the idea that the developers have watched their share of Game of Thrones:
“We have a visitor, Bracchus,” Rheon’s character says, addressing his black dragon companion. “Shall we hear them? Or flay them alive?” Yeah, the developers are definitely familiar with the traditions of House Bolton.
Finally, the internet is reacting to the discovery that Rebecca from the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, which has gotten a great response, is played by Hannah Waddingham, who played shame enthusiast Septa Unella on Game of Thrones:
I’m gonna guess that Septa Unella would not approve of Rebecca.
