The Game of Thrones finale season eight premiere took place last night at New York’s Radio City Music Hall with stars discussing their dream storylines, owning the carpet and the venue glowing dragon red especially.
Cast members including the likes of Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Sophie Turner made appearances, with Hafthor Julius Bjornsson towering over his wife Kelsey Henson.
Many characters stopped to have a chat about their hopes and dreams, with the night being documented heavily on social media and we’ve got the lowdown on what happened.
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams explain the rules
Both actresses kicked off the evening by reminding audiences not ruin episode details by leaking information.
They also warned that whipping out a phone would call for your face to be pinned to Arya’s wall at Winterfell.
Showrunners slate the pilot episode
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss poked fun at the first ever episode and the fact it was re-cast and re-shot several times.
‘It wasn’t very good,’ D.B said.
The duo thanked the cast for their hard work and dedication over the years, as well as the crew for their tireless efforts in adapting George R.R. Martin’s novels.
Although the pair didn’t write or direct the first episode of the finale season, they maintained creative control of the closing chapter.
The venue actually became the red dragon
Radio City Music Hall switched up its lighting especially for the night, opting for red and orange hues.
A truly brilliant and not so subtle nod to the show’s dragons.

Lord Varys had a stark warning for everyone at the premiere: ‘Keep the secrets.’
Attendees were given special Game Of Thrones badges with the skilled manipulator’s no-nonsense message. Dare to cross him and face the consequences of Master of Whisperers.
Cast joining each other on stage one last time
Ahead of the first episode screening, members of the cast got up on stage together.
Grey Worm wanted to take down Joffrey
Warrior Grey Worm has been involved many a battle, including fighting the Sons of the Harpy and slitting Razdal and Belicho’s throats.
But Jacob Anderson admitted on the red carpet that there’s someone else he wanted to stick his knife in.
‘I wish I could have got my spear on Joffrey. He was a bad egg.
‘I feel like he needed a spear, a good spearing.’
Daniel Portman would be friends with Podrick Payne
Daniel Portman, who plays Podrick Payne, admitted that he’s proud of his character and rates him pretty highly.
‘I think we’d be really good friends. To see him learning and progressing and also remaining true to himself, his loyalty and selflessness, it’s been very satisfying to be a part of.’

Hodor was keen for a romance with Brienne of Tarth
Kristian Nairn has confessed that he’d have liked Hodor to ahve a relationship with Brienne of Tarth.
‘I think they would’ve had a lovely relationship,’ he said. ‘They would have had giant, terrifying babies.
‘She’s such an amazing woman.’
Emilia Clarke and Daenerys will be one forever
Emilia Clarke reflected on leaving her character Daenerys behind, admitting that they’ll always be one.
‘We are going to be forever intertwined,’ Emilia confessed.
‘She doesn’t crack as many jokes as I do and I don’t have dragons, but she does inform the woman I have become.’
Samwell and Gilly should settle down in the sun
John Bradley is keen for good old Samwell to reside with Gilly in Pentos.
The dream, right?
‘They deserve a holiday after everything they’ve been through,’ John suggested.
