What would you do in an extreme close quarters battle if things got really bad?
It doesn’t take much to make your auto-loading pistol malfunction. In a close-quarters fight if the bad guy gets even one hand on your gun he can push it off target and cause a malfunction by keeping the slide from reciprocating, thus failing to allow a fresh cartridge to be carried to the chamber. This video was made to show you just how easy it is to cause such a malfunction and how little it takes to push a gun off target in a close-quarters fight. If someone gets a hand on your gun during a fight you are going to have to fight to maintain control of that pistol, keep it on target and, when possible, perform an immediate action drill to get a live round into the chamber. Don’t hesitate to get both hands on the gun in a battle to keep control, just make sure no part of your body is in front of the muzzle. That part of the gun is reserved for the bad guy.

Sounds like another reason to carry a revolver. No racking, just pull the trigger again.
Great episode best in a while thanks for the tips
Thanks. Did not realise a hand on slide would stop it dead.
Good video. You're looking slim, Kevin. Keep up the good work!
I demonstrated this to my Father in law a few months ago; as an NRA Firearms instructor, he was totally freaked out…. 😀
Jesse Mathewson and I developed a novel and extremely effective CQC retention, among other things. He being the licensed HG instructor and I being the CQC disarm specialist. Mainly based off systema kadochnikova simplified down as far as we could get it with some muay thai biomechanics thrown in at the right spots.
I'm i delusional but did you fire your weapon several times with one hand over or holding the slider?
for now on that will be my practice
Very good information..
Good video, go for an alternate weapon maybe? Or would it be better to keep both hands on the gun? Or maybe not even draw you gun that close?
Not a subject people want to think about, but very valuable to be addressed.
That is an eye-opening presentation. A good combination might be a .38 Special Ruger LCR for the main weapon and Ruger LC9 for a back-up gun.
