Is Brienne a Better Fighter than the Hound and Jaime Lannister | Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4

I would not draw conclusions based on that fight. Chance played a huge role as did the ground upon which the fight took place. She lucked out. He also lucked out surviving that fall.

The hound was bitten by some guy and refused Arya when she offered to burn the wound, he was sick so he wasn't exactly on top of his game either.

well i dont think Jaime could beat the hound in fair combat tbh (though more due to brutality and fighting method than skill) nor do i think Jaime would fight him given a choice. i would put Briene and Jaime on Par In terms of Ability but i genuinely believe the Hound is the best Warrior in Westeros (where as Briene and Jaime are knights bound by codes of Chivalry) he has no code just immense fighting prowess, meaning he is not held back.

I thought the hound still dominated much of that fight. If he had been 100 percent I think he would have handily beat her.

Well.. Both of them are at the best skill level of fighting. But its never a fair fight, either one of them is injured of some kind of way or the odds favor one for some reasons (could be as simple as in horse, brienne is better, but on foot the hound is better). Would you say the Hound is better at killing than Arya? Arya would win the fight, cause she would stab him in the back or poison him. So thats why I think you can't very tell who is better than the other because at this point, the circumstances have more impact than their skills.

So who is better? Brienne, she won the fight, plain and simple. In other circumstances, the hound could have won for sure.

Why are so many people talking about the books? It has "Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4" in the title. Btw, Barristan and Arthur Dayne is level above Jaime. Jaime isn't even that good of a fighter, at least in the show.

I think two hand Jaime would have easily beaten here, and I'd say its 50/50 with the Hound, Brienne seems to be a knight, whereas The Hound is a fighter. Two different styles

No she isn't.
She's got size like the hound who also isn't that great of a fighter but both don't need to be because they have their size.

Yeah, in combat sports, losing one fight doesn't mean shit. You could have a fight against someone and win, but then that someone could come back and wipe the floor with you every other fight afterwards. Nothing is set in stone.

I'm glad you mentioned the hounds neck wound slowing him down being a potential reason for losing to Brienne. People forget that.

2- Daemon Blackfyre
3- Barristan /Jaime/Arthur Dayne.

God Tiers: Night King and possibly some of his underlings and Jaqen
Top Tiers: Khal Drogo, Oberyn, Arthur Dayne, Ser Barristan (prime), and that's about it
High Tiers: The Mountain, The Hound, Brienne, Jaime complete (probably the best in this group) Robert Baratheon, Rhaegar Targaryen, Jon Snow, Arya, and maybe Ned Stark

I think it would be cool if somehow The Mountain and Brienne ends up in a fight, she lose to him and almost dies.. then Sandor steps in and kills The Mountain

No one in the series could beat healthy Jamie (except Dayne, prime Selmy and maybe prime Robert though I doubt it)
Hound is bigger and stronger than Brienne, but had worse equipment and was sick
All at their peak, she would be the worst of the three, Jamie would be the best

The hound has more than a slight edge against brienne. when they fought, it was an even match, despite the hound being handicapped by his injury. even with that injury, brienne only won because the hound fell off a cliff. she also had that valyrian sword. in a fair match at full strength, the hound would have crushed her.

At equal skill the stronger fighter wins.
She might be as strong as jaime.
But jaime is more skilled.
She might be as skilled as the hounds, but the hound is stronger.

Jamie needs to practice more with the left and become like qhorin half hand.

I'm sure in feast for crows, jamie when looking at a book of the kingsguards fears the hound more than his brother, faster just as strong and more skillful.
