Great topic! I think that she is definitely misunderstood. Dany being raised outside of Westeros, makes her a Targareyn that we should consider to be a person that nurture rather than nature has dictated her passions and ambitions.

I love her in the books, though I'm only a small way into the first one – but I think my main contention with her in the show is both her and the writer's portrayal of her.

Come on Danny used Drogo, yeah Drogo used her at first, but then She learned to use Drogo. She used Drogo to get her throne. If it wasn't for Danny Drogo would still be alive, their son would be alive. Drogo told her He didn't want to the Iron Throne, But she kept on him, till the day she was almost killed. That day Drogo made a oath. But not a Oath to Danny, but to their child. They left, she knew Drogo meant to rule till His son took the throne. Danny was the reason Drogo fought Mago, For she again wanted to change the Dothraki culture, and manipulated Drogo to get what she wanted. Instead of waiting for the healers no she talks Drogo against Quotho's words for the witch to heal him, a enemy. That is like the President being worked on by ISIS doctor. You knew he would do something to him. When Drogo was dead man walking, she used his horse as sacrifice, she lost there child after Quotho tried to stop the madness. Quotho dies for defending Drogo. This just shows that she knew what she was doing, burning kings blood to get the dragon to be born. Drogo had to die for that. She knew much of the Dothraki would serve her for how they saw things. she came out of a fire. She knew they would see her as a goddess. With Drogo gone his child gone his horse gone his body gone. Nothing of Drogo was left like he never existed. That is how she took over fully ….. Danny's character is devious and heartless

Stannis WAS the rightful heir To the throne. And right now Cersei is the rightful Queen as she's Robert Baratheon's last heir. The Targaryens have no claim anymore since Robert overthrew them and conquered the throne. Right by conquest.

I like the Danerys character, I just think Emilia Clarke is guilty of over-acting at times. She's had some truly great scenes, no argument there, but she sometimes takes it over the top and into melodrama. In a show where most other characters' actors give such nuanced performances, it can be pretty glaring.

I like Danny, she’s is a bit annoying at time but I like her. I didn’t like the whole “bend the knee” crap. She’s not Queen of the 7 kingdoms yet YET, so her telling Jon that he was in open rebellion of the crown that she didn’t have YET was kind of ludicrous to me. Also when Tally told her, you can’t send me to the wall because your not my Queen, I though that was a perfect reminder that although she feels she is the rightful air to the thrown….your not queen JUST yet. That’s like someone who’s not my boss telling me I’m fired. You don’t have that authority buddy🤨

Just have to say one thing as far as her being entitled and people not liking her for it. The other people that felt entitled, many people didnt like them either

Stannis is actually the heir… Stannis wasn’t obsessed with status—he was actually entitled to that stuff. And Robert won by right of conquest. If Robert wasn’t king, Aegon I wasn’t king. Some people are too hard on BOOK Dany (SHOW Dany is pretty terrible). But let’s keep it real.

definitely overrated, all she does orders people around to bend and follow her. Would like her more if she was like Visenya with Dark Sister a great warrior

Like with many character I like book Daenerys but hate the show version. Stannis didn't feel entitled to the throne it was his duty

Danny is 100% Over rated. She is just a brat throwing a tantrum, about what she thinks is owed to her cause she was born. The Paris Hilton of GoT . Drago death is on her shoulders, she has totally destroyed the Dothraki culture. Uses them as cannon fodder, as she does everyone she comes across. That throne is all she believes in, and will do anything and kill any in her way.
