Got GoT? Not for at least a year, says Sophie Turner.

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones started filming back in October, and while it was at one point projected to air in 2018, Turner tells Variety that you shouldn’t set your DVR until the following year. “Game of Thrones comes back in 2019,” she says.

So what’s the hold up? It could be the plain and simple fact that production has a LOT of GoT ground to cover. While the final season of the show will only be six episodes long, each episode could reportedly be 80 minutes long. For die hard fans, the reason may be worth the wait.

Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the the HBO series, has been on the show since it premiered in 2011, when she was just 14 years old. What does Turner life look like post–Game of Thrones? She’s got a key role in Fox’s X-Men film franchise, with her Dark Phoenix spinoff on the cover of EW right now.

  1. So many people jumping on the reverse bandwagon to act cool and different. GoT is the best show on TV (theres not one show on tv that is better), if it wasn't then it certainly wouldn't be the most watched tv show of all time.

  2. So basically this nigga wants the show now in an unpolished unfinished state rather than 2019 when it is ready and we have all had time to complete our backlogs? SMH L. Bonus L cuz it's frazier
