Game of Thrones was known for disastrous weddings. As if the Red Wedding weren’t enough, shortly thereafter we got the Purple Wedding, where Joffrey Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell were joined in a beautiful ceremony…only for the bride’s grandmother to surreptitiously poison the groom where he could die with tons of witnesses.

Joffrey Baratheon was played by Jack Gleeson, who by all accounts is much nicer than his Game of Thrones character. He had a much calmer wedding over the weekend, getting married to his longtime girlfriend, actress and comedian Róisín O’Mahony.

According to Independent.ie, Gleeson and O’Mahony wed in an intimate ceremony in at the Church of the Sacred Heart of the Glen in Ballinskelligs, Ireland. Although apparently there’s going to be a bigger ceremony later in England. In any case, we wish the couple seven blessings!

Nathalie Emmanuel’s new movie takes the top spot at the weekend box office

As long as we’re talking about Game of Thrones alum, Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) has a new movie out in theaters: The Invitation, about a young woman invited by her new boyfriend to her family’s home. Naturally, it turns out they’re all vampires. Isn’t it always the way?

Anyway, The Invitation debuted at the top of the box office, raking it $7 million over the weekend! That’s good news, although the flip side is that this is the lowest performing weekend for movies all year, per The A.V. Club; $7 million isn’t much for an opening weekend.

Still, first place is first place. Seven blessings to Emmanuel and company as well!
