We have seen Maisie Williams grow up over the years while watching Game Of Thrones, and the journey of her character from the cute little Arya Stark to one of the most ruthless killers has been nothing but riveting. But, ‘A Night of The Seven Kingdoms’ was one of those most unexpected (which is very much expected from GoT) episodes when all of us discovered perhaps the wildest side of Arya Stark. And when you are probably going to die soon, why not do the things that you have never done before?

In an interview with EW, Masie Williams spoke about the much talked about Arya-Gendry scene. “At first, I thought it was a prank,” the former Emmy nominee says. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And the showrunners were like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f—k!

Turns out Gendry is a Lucky bastard indeed!

The scene plays out with Arya interrogating Robert Baratheon’s illegitimate son, about his past relationships. Turns out Arya was 4th for him (FYI).

Well, the internet might love it or hate it, it did happen and probably for good. As a character, Arya has always been on a mission to survive, take revenge and kill. Being with Gendry it didn’t just mean one night of pleasure but way more than that. For once we saw Arya get her touch back with humanity.

This is something she’s stayed away from, an emotion we’ve never really seen her engage with”, said showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. “It’s interesting to see Arya be a bit more human, speak more normally about things people are scared of”.

Maisie Williams initially thought that the Arya-Gendry scene was a prank

Masie Williams shared more details about “the scene”:

In the beginning, everyone was really respectful,” she says. “No one wants to make you feel uncomfortable which kind of makes you feel more uncomfortable, because no one wants to look at anything that they shouldn’t look at, which in turn makes you feel like you look awful because everyone is kind of like—“ [Williams averts her eyes]. “You want people to act more normal.

To the ones who are wondering if Maisie and her character are too young — in the show, Arya is now 18 years old and Gendry, between 23 to 27 (Maisie Williams, who plays Arya, is 22 and Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry, is 31.)

Tell us in the comment below if you ship the new love birds in Winterfell. And even if you didn’t, we are still thrilled about what’s next on the Jon and Danny front. What about you?
