The TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is one of DC’s most highly anticipated projects. The Netflix series garnered quite some attention, as it includes an ensemble of highly talented casts, including Game of Thrones alumsGwendoline Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth in the fantasy series, will play a gender-swapped version of Lucifer in the show. And she is highly excited about it. Netflix has teased a first look at Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie on the set of the new drama series The Sandman.

In a brand-new teaser clip shared by Netflix Geeked, Sandman creator Neil Gaiman gives us a sneak peek behind-the-scenes at some of the sets being built at Shepperton Studios, where the series is being produced. We also get to hear from a couple of the show’s stars. Christie reveals just how excited she is to be taking on the role of Lucifer in the clip.

I read the Sandman graphic novels so I knew that I simply had to be involved in this project because something truly unique was going to happen,” she says in the video. “The sets are vast. A great amount of detail and care has been put into how it’s being brought to life.”

Her co-star Tom Sturridge, who is playing Dream, also describes himself as an “obsessive Sandman fan”, with Gaiman promising that the new series is “being made for people who love Sandman by people who love Sandman”
