Jason Momoa has requested that fans don’t compare his Game Of Thrones character to his new role.
The 40-year-old actor, who played Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy show, has taken on the part of Baba Voss in the new Apple TV+ series See.
Baba has been described as a ‘fearless warrior, leader and guardian’, while Khal was an ‘accomplished warrior who has never been defeated in battle’…
‘I don’t want to compare them because it’s not even… they’re two… you can’t compare them,’ Jason said.
He continued: ‘The only thing you can compare is they’re two worlds that we’ve never gone to these worlds before. Game of Thrones broke through and did that, we’ll do the same.
‘They’re not even remotely alike.’
He continued to ET Canada: ‘Drogo didn’t even fight. I’m in non-stop fights in this. The only similarity is that I’m in both, but they’re not alike.’
Okay, Jason, okay.
It was recently reported Apple spent nearly $15 million (£11.6 million) per episode on See, which spans eight episodes in total.
Speaking on This Morning earlier this week with co-star Alfre Woodard about the budget, Jason said: ‘The thing is we never wanted to shoot anywhere that we’ve ever shot before on the show.
‘We shot in Vancouver. We’d go extremely far, in some of the opening villages they actually drained a lake and it was all these massive huge trees that were clear cut down that are exposed, so it looked like a world that had taken everything.
‘So they lowered that lake, we built a whole village and they filled it back up when we were gone. So they went to great distances.’
If you need context, $15 million is believed to be the same budget the final season of Game Of Thrones had for each installment – which is touted as one of the most expensive TV shows ever created.
See launches on Apple TV+ on Friday 1 November.
