Game of Thrones veterans are doing what they can in this time of social distancing, whether that’s entertaining us at home or trying to help our frontline health workers. Let’s take a closer looks.
We begin with Jason Momoa: Khal Drogo, Aquaman, humanitarian. His production company On The Roam has partnered with companies like So iLL and Snake Bite Co. to produce face masks.
I gather that this partnership may have originally come into being to create clothes and bags and whatnot, but you pivot to make what the market needs, you know? Anyway, Momoa details some of what’s going on with the partnership — if you click over to the second screen, there’s a video tour of a shop where they’re making the masks:
Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) has also been helping to make face masks by pitching in at and raising awareness for his step-dad’s printing company. Now, it looks like more of the masks have gotten where they need to go:
Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) is also doing what she can in these difficult times. Below, she chats with Kiki, a psychologist who works for the International Rescue Committee Headey met when she visited refugees in Lesvos, Greece last year, about the unique plight the virus poses for refugees:
You’ve also gotta love the cameo by Headey’s young daughter. “Can you help me make my tiny garden?” A thousand times yes.
When she’s not tackling serious issues, Headey continues to be delightfully weird on Instagram. Here’s the latest update in her “banana-phone series”:
And below, a gerbil crunches on a pellet. Just accept the entertainment:
Other cast members are using their time in lockdown to stroll down memory lane, like Carice van Houten (Melisandre), who posted a still from one of her early projects: the 1999 drama Suzy Q:
The Red Woman, the early years.
Meanwhile, a few cast members are appearing in new stuff. Jon Jonas has a new series called Cup of Joe coming to Quibi, where he travels the world (man, that’s basically science fiction these days). His wife Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) comes along for the ride sometimes. Watch a preview below:
Quarantine continues.
