Jason Momoa is out there, playing superheroes and practicing civil disobedience. A few days back, he posted an image of a construction site on his Instagram page, and let Warner Bros. know that “we can’t shoot Aquaman 2. Because Jason got run over by a bulldozer trying to stop the desecration of his native land.”

Momoa has been protesting the building of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) on the Mauna Kea volcano, land considered sacred to native Hawaiians (Momoa was born on Honolulu). I’m not sure if he literally means the part about delaying filming on Aquaman 2, but he is clearly serious about the protest. He followed up with another post asking his followers to support the cause:

Despite legal battles and continual protests (which even attracted the attention of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who also has Hawaiian descent), the construction of the telescope has been deemed legal and doesn’t show any signs of stopping. But since Khal Drogo and the Rock are involved, who’s to say what could happen?

Thank you for not dropping Ed Sheeran; we need him in one piece, please!

Finally, our hearts go out to Kristian Nairn (Hodor), who’s struggling through a difficult period. According to a post on his Instagram account, Nairn has cancelled DJ-ing gigs to be at the bedside of his mother, who was “rushed to the hospital” recently.

Fans have since posted their love and support for Nairn and his family, as have Game of Thrones costars Gwendoline Chrisite and Lena Headey.

By all accounts, Nairn and his mother are very close. Here’s what he said to The Guardian earlier this year:

Game Of Thrones enhanced my life in so many ways. It enabled me to buy my mum a house, which is all I ever wanted to do. It taught me the craft of acting and gave me the confidence to just be myself.

We wishing Nairn’s mother a speedy recovery.
