Jason Momoa and Peter Dinklage have taken part in a Game of Thrones reunion we have all been waiting for.
However, the exciting moment was overshadowed by backlash after fans slammed the Khal Drogo star for posing alongside Mel Gibson.
The famous director fell from grace when he was accused of being both anti-Semitic and sexist, after claiming men and women are ‘not equal’ in an interview dating back to 1995.
But despite him being welcomed back to Hollywood with open arms, it appears people do not forget the past, and called Jason out for championing the 64-year-old.
In the caption alongside the pictures of HBO star posing next to the actor, the father-of-two wrote: ‘ICON. legend MEL you made my childhood amazing MAD MAX MARTIN RIGGS WILLIAM WALLACE in my opinion even a greater director.
‘Thank you sir for APOCALYPTO and yes anything you need from me IM F**KING IN MEL.’
The 40-year-old turned his attention to the Tyrion Lannister actor, and continued: ‘Good to see u as always peter you always light me up love u bro.
He then added the hashtags, ‘#intheworks #weartheflannelpete #gotthememo #punchmeimdreaming #lethalweaponchildhood #imafan,’ before writing: ‘Mahalo cale and mary aloha j.’
But the Aquaman star’s followers were not impressed one bit, and lashed out in the comments section.
‘So it’s okay to be cool with Mel Gibson now?’ one wrote while another added: ‘This makes me ill. Why?’
Someone else echoed similar feelings: ‘Oh, this ain’t it, buddy,’ and it seems others agreed: ‘I’m not sure your wife would feel the same about, “how great Mel Gibson is.”‘
Jason starred in the first series of the fantasy hit before he was arguably killed off prematurely.
However, it seems his co-stars are missing the show, as Sophie Turner who played Sansa Stark recently admitted she’d go back in a heartbeat.
‘I miss everything (about it). I really, deeply, deeply miss it,’ the 24-year-old told Elle magazine in her cover shoot interview: ‘I miss the costumes. I miss the set. I miss the feeling that I got when I walked onto set in my costume, and that was incredibly empowering.’
The actress added: ‘I miss the people. I miss everything. I would go back to it in a heartbeat.’
