Did you know that the former and current cast members of Game of Thrones have lives beyond the show? It’s true. In fact, some of them even involve themselves with projects that nothing to do with Westeros. Mind blown.
First up, apparently Jerome Flynn (Bronn) is a vegan, and has “joined forces with PETA to highlight the horrors of the British farming industry and expose misleading labels like ‘high welfare’ and ‘free-range.’” He tells you about it below, although be warned: the video shows animals in horrible situations and is hard to watch.
If this is a cause you want to get behind, PETA has several ways you to get involved.
On a lighter note, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) is starring in a romantic comedy Last Christmas to be released later this year…probably around Christmas. Last Christmas is directed by Paul Feig, a veteran TV guy who worked on shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation before directing movies like Bridesmaids. In addition to Clarke, the cast also includes the likes of Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Emma Thompson.
And now, you and a friend can have the chance to fly to London and meet all of those people on the set of the movie. Universal Pictures has partnered with charity platform Omaze to offer this opportunity. Here’s what you could win:
- Meet Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh on the set of Last Christmas
- Join director Paul Feig at his favorite spot in London
- Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated romantic comedy
- Be flown out and put up in a 4-star hotel
The more you donate, the more chances you have to win the trip!
Finally, former Game of Thrones star and soon-to-be-current The Crown star Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) talked to Inverse about acting in video games, specifically his role as Godfrey in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s zombie mode. “I have no relationship with that medium at all!” Dance said. “I know from my grown-up children that Call of Duty is huge.”
I told my daughter, and she said ‘Oh dad, it’s huge.’ I said, ‘Is it really?’ I don’t know anything about them! All aspects were new to me. I wouldn’t know how to play one. I’ve never played one before, I doubt very much I will.
Naturally, Lord Tywin wouldn’t carry with frivolous things like video games. Although Dance doesn’t play purely because he doesn’t have time. He finds the technology interesting. “The fact that they take a 3D image of your face and make you do about 200 expressions so that they be used in the animation, it’s a whole different ball game for me,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun.”
And here I was thinking that Charles Dance had only two expressions: disappointed and extremely disappointed. Time to play some Call of Duty.
