Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson thinks Jon Snow shouldn’t have got away with murder.
The star, who played Unsullied commander Grey Worm in the fantasy epic, claimed the dragon-rider should’ve paid with his life for stabbing Daenerys Targaryen in the finale episode, reports The Sun.
“I’d take his head off! Personally I feel like he got off a bit lightly,” he told Metro Online.
“Can you imagine? People would be very upset if Jon Snow was beheaded. People love that guy.”
However, he explained that Grey Worm had seen enough bloodshed in his lifetime and simply wanted to move on after years of war.
“I feel like from Grey Worm’s perspective, it’s just there had been enough violence by that point,” he added.
Anderson revealed that Grey Worm’s priorities had changed and with conquest out of the picture, he simply wanted to honour her memory by journeying to her homeland, Naath.
“Grey Worm was all about peace at that point, he was like, ‘right I just wanna go and chill on an island and fulfil my promise to Missandei,’” he went on.
“That’s how I like to think of it anyway. That’s what I want for him, just being able to have some sleep. Grey Worm enjoying some ‘me time’ really does seem like justice, doesn’t it?”
The comments come after Anderson ignited fan fury by joking that the beloved character had died at the hands of poisonous butterflies.
The comment was in reference to lore from the George R.R. Martin novels, which claimed only those native to Naath could safely breathe the toxins emitted by the insects.
“It would be quite funny but it would slightly undermine everything that came before it,” he later clarified to Standard Online.
“I like to think romantically, that the Unsullied made it without a hitch and it was all good.”
