Jane Goldman is actively working with the ‘Long Night’ prequel series of Game of Thrones especially with the casting of actors. This was confirmed by the writer/creator of the World of Ice and Fire – George RR Martin. His latest post on his blog reads:

“Jane Goldman scripted the LONG NIGHT pilot and will be running the show. She and her team are busy in London right now, neck deep in casting, and I expect some more names will be announced soon.”

And, it seems that another cast of the new series has been announced. He is Josh Whitehouse and will be playing a lead character in the series. You may know this 28-year-old actor for his roles in The Happy Worker and Valley Girl. There isn’t much known about his character in the series at this point in time. We hope to hear more about this news in the upcoming months.

Previously, Naomi Watts was announced to play a lead role in the series and unlike Whitehouse, her character was said to be “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.” With an ample amount of time left maybe, we can speculate more based on the description of the series, which reads:

“Taking place thousands of years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend … it’s not the story we think we know.”
