It’s the middle of the week. Get over the hump with this collection of Game of Thrones fan films, explainers, and edits. It’s a sit-back-and-watch-video kind of morning.

Covers of the Game of Thrones theme song are everywhere. You can find original fan films if you look, too. But this is a little different, and very interesting. YouTube channel Master Visuals has made a fan film featuring an original story, characters “inspired” by people from the series, and a cover of the main theme played on Kashmiri instruments like the Rabab and No’t. The story, so far as io9 can tell, involves a Jon Snow or Jon Snow-like figure visiting a place called Stark’s Waterfall in order to find a cure for a dying woman. It’s a moody, loving tribute. Check it out:

Next up, we sample a video from The Templin Institute, a channel that “investigates nations, organizations and factions from alternate worlds.” There are a whole lot of those in A Song of Ice and Fire, so it was only natural that this channel would get around to them. In this video, it dives into the history of House Stark and Winterfell:

I like that this video is told from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have the inside scoop on the game of thrones being played behind the curtain, so as far as they’re concerned, Ned Stark was a conspirator who tried to kill King Robert, and Littlefinger the hero who acted quickly enough to stop him. Most people in Westeros think events played out like they did in that play Arya watched in season 6.

Finally, weirwood raven has cut together all the scenes set at the Tower of Joy over the last two seasons, from Ned’s fight with Arthur Dayne to Lyanna telling him Jon Snow’s real name. Do they work as one uninterrupted sequence?
