I was under the impression that Casino Royale was more a product of Austin Powers than Jason Borne. Austin Powers made the campier elements of James Bond seem silly, so they had to go darker.

I doubt you are right. Bond has already moved in that direction. The 'exploding pen' was a joke in Skyfall but by SPECTRE he already had an exploding watch. All the realism of Casino Royale is gone by SPECTRE. It's true that Craig was finished and they need a new Bond to tell a new story. And it is true that the new story will want to disassociate itself from Craig's run. So it may become less gritty. But Kingsman is practically a parody of Bond. I don't think they'll take too many lessons from that bullshit. I am a 'Medium'.

I saw the new kingsman literally half an hour ago, and I thought it was ok. It wasn't really bad but could have been a little better, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it from start to finish, and I did really like the stunts and all the action sequences. If there is a third, witch there probably will be at some point down the line, I think it will take all the best bits from the first two and make a great movie… or completely flop.

Can we just stop with the Bonds? Let it die. Kingsmen at least has a good in universe explanation for recasts if it goes on like Bond. Let that go for 30-40 years until it's Bond level beating a dead horse and then find something else XD

Oh man unsolicited face reveal XD. I still had never see the man behind the goat and frankly I didn't want to. Now I have and I cannot unsee it. I was watching that clip like "Who tf is this guy? Huh, kinda sounds famil- OH MY GOD." This changes everything from this day forward. You can no longer remain a cartoon goat man in my head. My reality has been shattered.
