News, Harington explained that it was Turner who first sent him the script, seemingly unfazed by the idea of their characters being lovers—until he read it and realized just how intimate their on-screen dynamic would be. He admitted that he felt “odd” about the shift from siblings to romantic leads, and revealed that filming the kiss required him to stand on an apple box because Turner is noticeably taller, something he described as “slightly embarrassing.”
Turner, for her part, has also been candid about how strange the whole experience felt. In a previous chat, she called their kiss “vile”—not because of Harington himself, but because they still instinctively see one another as family after years of playing Sansa and Jon. That shared weirdness softens the moment; rather than playing it cool, both actors openly acknowledge how bizarre it is for them and for fans who grew up with the Starks.
