Kit Harington has finally revealed key details about Jon Snow’s last ever scene on season eight of Game of Thrones – and it’s got to do with the Wildlings.

Spoilers ahead, so if you haven’t watched the last ever season of Game of Thrones, what are you doing with your life?!

The end of Game of Thrones was rather emotional for fans who hated it and fans who loved it; villains died unfairly peaceful deaths [Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), we’re looking at you], Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) took her place as Queen of an independent North and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) embarked on a journey to the other side of the world.

The world of Westeros wasn’t infested with zombies, and fire-happy Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) didn’t take the throne.

In fact, there was some semblance of order restored; the remains of the empire voted in a brand new King, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and the realm was slowly being rebuilt from the literal ashes.

Game of Thrones viewers will remember that Jon Snow’s life was saved by sending him to the North, to be a member of the Night’s Watch once more.

The last scene has him leaving the wall and riding away from Westeros with a group of Wildlings, and it had fans asking all sorts of questions – where is he going? What will he do there? Will he ever return home?

So, where did he go?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Kit Harrington revealed all.

He said: ‘Seeing him go beyond the Wall back to something true, something honest, something pure with these people he was always told he belongs with – the Free Folk – it felt to me like he was finally free.

‘Instead of being chained and sent to the wall, it felt like he was set free. It was a really sweet ending. As much as he had done a horrible thing [in killing Daenerys], as much as he had felt that pain, the actual ending for him was finally being released.’

So there you have it. He left to be with the Wildlings.

Game of Thrones season 8 is streaming on NOW TV.
