Kit Harington has addressed whether or not he would let his baby watch his racy Game of Thrones scenes in future, revealing the hilarious approach he’s going to have explaining why his son should be ‘thankful’.
In February 2021, Kit’s wife Rose Leslie, gave birth to a baby boy.
Kit and Rose, who are both 34, fell in love after meeting on the set of Game of Thrones, with Kit playing the brooding Jon Snow opposite Rose’s fierce wildling Ygritte.
In the fantasy show, Jon and Ygritte are initially at odds with one another, but eventually fall in love and share a steamy relationship (cough cough, cave scene) before their romance comes to a tragic end.
If they had never met on the series, fallen in love and wed, then their son may have never existed… a fact Kit is going to emphasise to their child when he’s old enough to understand.
When asked by E! News’ Daily Pop if he’s ever going to show Game of Thrones to his son when he grows up, the Eternals actor responded: ‘Look, I mean, you can just be thankful that it happened because otherwise you wouldn’t be here.’
‘So that will be it,’ he added. ‘I’ll be like, “You don’t like watching it? Well, tough luck.”’
We have a feeling Kit and Rose’s son is going to have some interesting chats on the playground when the other kids find out about how his parents met.
One of Kit’s most recent roles is playing Dane Whitman in the MCU blockbuster Eternals alongside fellow Game of Thrones alum Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Kumail Nanjiani, among many others.
In the Marvel comic books, Dane is a superhero who takes on the mantle of being the Black Knight, so fans will undoubtedly be intrigued to see how the character’s story progresses in future releases.
Kit recently admitted that he’s going to struggle to watch the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon, explaining that he has ‘a huge emotional connection to that piece, to that story, to that world’.
The spin-off will focus on the Targaryen clan 200 years before the events of the original series, starring Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke and Rhys Ifans.
Game of Thrones is available to watch on Sky and NOW and House of the Dragon will air on HBO Max and Sky Atlantic in 2022.
