Kit Harington has revealed what he hated most about filming the final season of the fantasy epic, and really laid into Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons.
The 32-year-old previously admitted riding the beasts caused grave damage to his crotch, but actually, anything involving Drogon, Rhaegal or Viserion was just the worst.
While the rest of us can only dream of flying through the skies on a dragon, it’s actually ‘horrific’.
‘Emilia [Clarke] had been moaning about it for seasons, and I was like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. You have not been through the mud in Northern Ireland. A buck in a nice warm room?”’ he explained to The Hollywood Reporter.
‘But she was absolutely right. It was horrific. It’s not acting at all. It is not acting, it never will be acting, and it is not what I’d signed up for. It is very uncomfortable as a man.’
Well, Kit will never have to put himself through the agony again, but he’s not the only one thankful to see the back of Game of Thrones.
Even George RR Martin, author, mastermind and the powers that be, has revealed he feels liberated now the HBO series is over, even if the prequel believed to be titled Bloodmoon begins next year.
‘I don’t think [the TV series] was very good for me. The very thing that should have speeded me up actually slowed me down,’ he told The Observer.
‘Every day I sat down to write and even if I had a good day…I’d feel terrible because I’d be thinking: “My God, I have to finish the book. I’ve only written four pages when I should have written 40.”’
Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.
