Kit Harington has revealed he sought therapy at the height of his Game Of Thrones fame after having people shouting at him on the street.
The 32-year-old, famed for playing fan favourite Jon Snow, struggled with his confidence after being under the intense scrutiny.
‘When you become the cliffhanger of a TV show, and a TV show probably at the height of its power, the focus on you is f***ing terrifying,’ he explained.
Recalling people shouting, ‘Are you dead?’ at him on the street, Kit pointed out: ‘It wasn’t a very good time in my life.’
‘I felt I had to feel that I was the most fortunate person in the world, when actually, I felt very vulnerable. I had a shaky time in my life around there — like I think a lot of people do in their 20s.’
The star added to Variety: ‘That was a time when I started therapy, and started talking to people. I had felt very unsafe, and I wasn’t talking to anyone. I had to feel very grateful for what I have, but I felt incredibly concerned about whether I could even f***ing act.’
Ironically enough, Kit previously admitted he was the last person in the cast to find out how the final series of the show ended – all because he was too lazy to read the scripts.
It’s next level procrastination.
‘We had a table read and I was the one person who hadn’t read the episodes,’ Kit explained to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.
‘Everyone else had them like, three days before and read them and… I think I told everyone it was because I didn’t want to know what happened but I think it was just laziness that I didn’t read them.’
As for his reaction? ‘I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding,’ he told Colbert. ‘And then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried. I cried, yeah.’
Tissues at the ready, guys.
