House of the Dragon has been a roaring success, to say the least. Kylie Jenner recently did a 2022 “Year in Review” video on her Youtube channel and professed her love for the HBO series. “Favorite TV show this year, obviously ‘House of the Dragon,’” said Jenner. “I’ve watched the whole thing, it’s hard to say. Probably like five times now.”

The show completed its first season earlier this year and has found major success across the board. Kylie Jenner and her family recently did a bit with James Corden parodying the HBO Series, titled “The Targashians Take Over Westeros”. House of the Dragon has had massive mainstream appeal and has spurred Game of Thrones back into the spotlight. The show has been greenlit for a second season. The first season concluded with a climatic aerial chase on dragons and fans cannot wait to see how the show adapts certain pivotal moments from the book.

Game of Thrones did a great job transcending nerd culture and into the large mainstream, and it looks its prequel brethren has had the same fortune. HOTD is currently one of the most exciting projects in the HBO pipeline, but there’s a lot more coming fans’ way soon. So far, the Jon Snow spin-off series seems to be in the oven, with actor Kit Harrington dropping a few nuggets about the potential direction of the series.

Needless to say, GoT has made a return to form and HBO will likely ride this wave for as long as it seems tenable. However, there will be far more pressure on the second season of House of the Dragon than compared to the first. Since fans will be expecting it to surpass the high benchmark of the first.
