Game of Thrones was a cultural phenomenon, possibly the biggest show of the 21st century that went down worse than Titanic. The characters from the show became a part of the viewers’ lives, and the actors beloved and well respected. Out of countless fan-favorites, Liam Cunningham‘s Ser Davos Seaworth stands apart as one of the few characters without any haters. However, Cunningham himself never got to read the actual source material of his superhit show.

Liam Cunningham never read Game of Thrones

Cunningham recently attended an interview with Collider, where he talked about reuniting with Game of Thrones showrunners and how his upcoming show, the 3 Body Problem, is in good hands. He admitted, “I haven’t even read the books, but Benioff] knows a lot more about it than I do“, referring to both George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones as well as Liu Cixin’s 3 Body Problem.

Liam Cunningham believes Game of Thrones showrunners are extremely talented

Cunningham went on to express how much he believed in David Benioff and D. B. Weiss’ ability to helm the 3 Body Problem, “It’s always the quality of the writing, and these guys, it’s some of the best writing I’ve ever come across in my life. And this is also saying I spent a year and a half with the Royal Shakespeare Company… These boys are absolutely extraordinary, the words they put in an actor’s mouth.”
