GAME of Thrones bad guy Aidan Gillen stars in a new video from a Dublin singer/songwriter.

Gillen takes on the role of a conspiracy theorist in the video for Lived Through This Before by Barry McCormack.

A long-time admirer of McCormack’s, Gillen requested to feature in the video for the track.

McCormack’s hotly anticipated sixth album, Mean Time, releases this Friday on Hags Head Records.

A central point of the album is the decline of the Iveagh Markets, which feature in the artwork for the album.

Speaking of the gargoyle-sculptures in the archway of the building, Barry said: “All around the building there are different sculptures depicting people from the four corners of the world, as they would have been in the Victorian empire.

“I ended up using all of the heads throughout the artwork; the main picture is of a particularly sinister, winking face.

“My last three album have been about Dublin. With this one, I wanted to bring in the wider world, but still remain rooted here.

“The heads are interesting because The Iveagh Markets are quintessentially Dublin – but the heads are somehow otherworldly. “I’m an observer rather than an activist.

“I feel passionate about the abandonment and dereliction that is everywhere. Are we going to end up in the same situation as San Francisco, where it’s three grand for a bedsit and around the corner everyone is homeless and it’s a really nasty, violent atmosphere?”
