My Rambling somewhat low energy thoughts about the show, while this season is better than the bleeding seasons aka 5 and 6, there are no stakes any more and the error in logic, common sense and plot development have finally all come to head resulting in not so much of a disaster but a series that no longer has a purpose to exist. 1. Jon dies in battle, Daenerys dies in childbirth and the baby is the new king, the Night's King is Bran due to time travel mishaps, Sansa becomes Queen of the North, Cleganebowl happens and the two kill each other with Gregor being a double zombie, Jaime stops Cersei and offers her poisoned wine to kill herself rather than be captured by Dany then he bangs Brienne, Melisandre burns alive to stop the White Walkers, Euron is drowned to death, Theon or Yara dies and the other one becomes ruler of the Iron Islands, Tyrion becomes the adoptive father to the heir to the throne and the entire series turns out to be a story Old Man Samwell is telling to his grandkids. He even has a George RR Martin beard

The last scene Podrick Payne is about to explain just how he was able to pleasure those whores to the point they gave his money back and right before he explains the show abruptly ends because they need something to troll us. I expect at least four of these things to happen

  2. Cersei got the throne because she had wealth and army. This is how kings were all made in the first place and she was not accepted through force but because it made her able to keep the peace as well as pay those who would do the job. The alternative would have been an uncertain power struggle amongst minor factions and her taking the role of the leviathan was actually in everyone's benefit. It makes her the most legitimate ruler in a long time. She didn't even have to conquer, she merely offered a viable solution.
Much of your thoughts are centered around the assumption that claims and the love of the people matter. They don't.The people never had a say in anything and claims only matter in that they can better group the real power holders together. Childless Olenna was no longer a future-proof solution so she had to lose against the next strongest beast come to take her bone, claim or not.

  3. I think you were confused about ollena, she is a tyrell, she was margery's grandmother. So she had a claim to highgarden. Far as im aware the children have a stronger claim to the throne than brothers or sisters. So jon snow has a greater claim to the throne (being rhaegar and lyanna's son) than dany.
What annoys me is in season 1 a nights watch dude gets beheaded for desertion. Its made clear desertion gets the death penalty. Yet no one bats an eye at jon leaving the nights watch, bearing in mind none of the lords know he was killed and resurrected. So how he was able to be king in the north is beyond me. Sansa's marriage made her a bolton, so surely she is the legit lord of winterfell now? I'm really just waiting for undead mountain to crush someone like a grape.

  4. Lord Commander of the THOT Patrol :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
    Long may he reign!

I agree that the plot is a mess, and that even ultra-feminist George RR Martin had to give women more indirect power in order to keep it realistic. HBO made their bones and fame with the book-accurate seasons, and then spent that good-will capital on making every leader a female, while every male is either LITERALLY castrated, malformed, mentally unstable, and so on
