While we might be waiting with bated breath for the finale of Game Of Thrones, Maisie Williams will sleep easy knowing she’s gained a massive family from the HBO series.
The eighth and final season will hit screens next month and even though she won’t be seeing her on screen chums every day, she’s revealed a secret WhatsApp group between the cast that keeps them connected.
Even if it is just to share ridiculously embarrassing photos of one another that may or may not make it out into the public one day.
‘We have a Game of Thrones WhatsApp and people just post really funny pictures of one another from various seasons,’ Maisie, 21, laughed while talking at the Glamour Beauty Festival in London on Sunday.
‘I think there was a rule these do not go on Instagram… but I’m definitely going to put them on Instagram.’
Adding she felt the cast was ‘one big family’, the Arya Stark actress and tech entrepreneur, who recently launched social platform Daisie, recounted her bond with Lena Headey, who plays villainous Cersei Lannister in the long-running series.
‘I’ve been close with her a long time. When I first met her she didn’t have any kids and I was 12 years old and now she’s a mother of two. We’ve been with each other for these crazy times in our lives,’ she continued. ‘Knowing someone for a decade is huge and she’s always treated me like a grown up.
‘She always respected me on a real level and for that I’m so grateful.’
Maisie admitted the lengths the showrunners go to in making sure the show secrets are kept so airtight she was finding scripts were disappearing from her at midnight.
She’s told her mum the ending, which is sweet, but she’s careful to ruin it for the show’s diehard fans.
Because while we might feel like we want to know the ending, we really don’t – it takes the fun out it.
Which Sophie found out the hard way when she told her fiancé Joe Jonas the final curtain details.
The 23-year-old, who plays Sansa Stark in the fantasy epic, told Glamour: ‘I’ve just told Joe. But he’s so mad at me – he loves the show.
‘Well, I have to tell someone, otherwise I’ll burst.’
Game Of Thrones returns 14 April.
