Maisie Williams is moving on from Game Of Thrones with new show Two Weeks To Live (MIDNIGHT EMBARGO)

Maisie Williams has admitted that it’s an ‘impossible challenge’ to follow on from her major role as Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones.

The actress, 23, played the character in the hit TV show, which ran from 2011-2019, and is now preparing to star in Sky’s new comedy series Two Weeks To Live.

Although she has tried her hand at genres including drama and action in the past, Maisie has said she’s aware that some fans will always compare her to her name-making role in Westeros.

Speaking with NME about working after Game Of Thrones, Maisie said ‘it’s just an impossible challenge’ to avoid comparisons.

She added: ‘I don’t think I’m ever gonna be a part of anything that’s gonna be seen by that many people or streamed in that many countries or costs that much to make again.’

However this hasn’t dampened Maisie’s enthusiasm with her revealing that she now seeks out roles which will push her out of her comfort zone.

Maisie said: ‘That’s basically all I want to do from now onwards. I think that so much great work comes from being super uncomfortable – as an actor, obviously, not for everyone.’

Fans will next see Maisie in comedy Two Weeks To Live where she plays Kim, a young woman who has lived in isolation in Scotland with her paranoid mum Tina (played by Fleabag’s Sian Clifford).

However things take a major twist when Kim sneaks into the nearby town and enjoys a cider with brothers Jay (Taheen Modak) and Nicky (Mawaan Rizwan).

The pair play a prank on Kim convincing her that a nuclear explosion means everyone only has two weeks left to live, sparking an entertaining series of events.

During her new project Maisie even got to revisit her stunt skills from GOT.

The actress said she and co-star Sean Pertwee, who plays the man who murdered her father, got into some intense scenes.

Revealing she had a ‘painful bottle on the head’, Maisie added: ‘I also kicked Sean in the mouth and made his mouth bleed so I think we were even after that.’

Two Weeks To Live will be shown on Sky 2 and NOW TV on September 2.
