The Stark sisters keep breaking Game of Thrones news! It was Sophie Turner who first let slip that the show would not be back with its final season until 2019, and now in a recent interview with the Metro, Maisie Williams, who incidentally is set to be Turner’s bridesmaid, claims that we can expect to watch the new season in April 2019. Of course, until we hear it from HBO this isn’t official news, and plans could change in the course of a year, but for now, it’s encouraging to set our sights on next Spring. Willaims says the show, which commenced with filming in October of 2017, will finish filming this December, and that she hopes that her character, Arya Stark, will “find peace.”

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones received an award from the Screen Actor’s Guild on the 21st of January for  Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. This is a very well-deserved recognition of all the hard work that goes into the battles and other wild moments we love in Thrones. Last year, I watched a behind the scenes gif  of the filming of the Loot Train Attack, where multiple stuntmen were being repeatedly set ablaze, and it was truly impressive. Game of Thrones’ main actors get a great deal of appreciation by both critics and fans, so its nice for those involved in stunts to get such a prestigious form of acknowledgement for their talent.

Speaking of behind-the-scenes, Karakter, a design studio which makes concept art for Game of Thrones, recently released some of the mock-ups commissioned by HBO for the previous season on. The artwork is strikingly beautiful and show-cases the way Game of Thrones’ writers and producers value consistency and aesthetics.

Kit Harrington and Peter Dinklage are apparently back in Belfast for filming, as is director David Nutter. Reports recently came in that the set for Winterfell is being (purposefully) set on fire. That castle can’t catch a break!

Hopefully, HBO will give us more definite information about GOT’s premiere date in the near future, so keep checking in with us for the latest Game of Thrones news.
