Maisie Williams knows how to toy with our Game of Thrones emotions.

The actress co-hosted BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday morning and may – or may not – have dropped a tantalising teaser for season eight. We’re taking her word as gospel, FYI.

Maisie, 21, joined Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw for his final week presenting the morning slot after six years before passing the decks to DJ Greg James.

Of course, Nick, 33, and his team, including entertainment reporter Sinead, couldn’t resist grilling Maisie for season eight spoilers. For the most part, Maisie managed to dodge their questions but she may have let one little important piece of information slip.

The actress, who plays Arya Stark in the HBO fantasy series, was quizzed on recent rumours that Cersei Lannister may team up with the Night King. Maisie teased: ‘Oh, I have seen those pictures. What a power couple.’

Sinead then joked: ‘Is the Night King fit in real life? Because I have a huge crush on him.’

Giving hope to the reporter, Maisie revealed: ‘So it was played by two different guys. It was an actor and then it was a stunt guy. Vlad, he is one the most incredible swordsmiths and he is a good-looking lad. He’s got great bone structure.’

Now we’ll all look at the Night King in a new light!

The theory of Cersei and the Night King stems from season seven of GoT when Cersei decided not to follow Jon, Dany and her own brother/lover Jaime in their fight against the army of the dead. Instead, theorists pose that she may actually team up with the Night King, who has now infiltrated The Wall in the North, to take the Iron Throne.

Sounds like a ‘power couple’ Westeros could really do without.

Nick and co. also asked Maisie about Jon Snow’s ‘twin who looks more like a Targaryen so Ned Stark couldn’t take that one too,’ prompting the actress to respond: ‘Where did that one come from?’

Sinead later took the opportunity to ask Maisie about the fate of Tormund, who was last seen being dragged into icy water after the army of the dead smashed through The Wall. Dodging the line of questioning like a pro, Maisie replied: ‘Aaah. It’s because I don’t read the scripts. I just read the little prompt.’

Earlier in August, Maisie revealed her parents banned her from reading a particular sex scene between two women in the script to avoid an awkward moment.

Maisie wrapped up filming the last ever Game of Thrones scenes earlier this year. Season eight is expected to premiere in the first half of 2019.

Nick was joined by Rita Ora earlier this week and will host his last ever show on Friday.
