Game of Thrones was the most celebrated show of the 21st century. The fantastical drama set the bar for quality TV shows really high. The series was famous for its beautiful scenery, gruesome battles and on-point casting. However, it was also famous for various controversial X-rated scenes. Quite a number of viewers were shocked by the amount of nudity and sex scenes on the HBO epic. The cast tried to explain to the public why they were important to the story. Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams doesn’t feel shy went it comes to expressing herself on the screen. However, she did hesitate when it came to stripping in front of the camera for her upcoming show Pistol.
In a recent interview with GQ Style Spring/Summer 2022, Maisie revealed she was hesitant to accept her latest role as pioneering punk Pamela Rooke aka Jordan after discovering the script demanded she went topless- before overcoming her nerves to go topless during an audition. With Jordan’s exhibitionism in mind, the actress wore a sheer top while auditioning over ZOOM with director Danny Boyle – a dedication that immediately flattered the filmmaker. She said, “And it worked out. I got the part.”
She explained, “Just because of everything that happens in the industry and all the horror stories I’ve heard. I want to be in this show because I’m the best person to do this, not because I’m the only girl who’ll take her top off.”
