As Game of Thrones draws to a close, Maisie Williams is eyeing up her acting career once the HBO’s eighth season hits our screens in 2019.

And she already has an idea of the types of roles that will be thrown her way.

Or the types that won’t be, rather.

Speaking with The Irish Times, the 20-year-old English actress – who plays Arya Stark – told them she doesn’t see herself cast in sexy roles based on her appearance.

‘It’s only now I’m starting to realise the characters that are available to me because of the way I look and the characters that aren’t available to me,’ she said. ‘It’s a very shallow industry. And I don’t look like someone who is cast in roles that are, well, sexualised.’

She added: ‘Don’t get me wrong. I’m completely in awe of Hollywood’s leading ladies. I love looking at those totally jaw-droppingly beautiful women. But I think it’s sad that you only get to see one type of beautiful on screen.’

Previously she’d admitted she was ‘nervous’ to lose her ‘safety blanket’ of Game of Thrones once the show pumped out its final six episodes, currently being filmed.

Since she debuted on the show in 2011, Maisie starred in side projects including a stint on Doctor Who and she played a homeless teen in The Book of Love, while she’s set to star in horror flick The New Mutants.

However she has one thing to take her mind off the end of the HBO show she’s bossed for much of her life, and that’s the wedding of her BFF and on-screen sibling Sophie Turner.

During an interview with Radio Times, the star revealed she was going to be a bridesmaid at Sophie’s upcoming nuptials to popstar Joe Jonas, saying she had ‘already got’ her place in the bridal party.

Just like the Starks, this pack stays together it seems.
