As a member of the Night’s Watch, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and finally King in the North, Jon Snow spent a lot of time defending people from harm on Game of Thrones, whether he was fighting the wildlings, the White Walkers or even his own queen. So naturally, the Manchester City Council thought of him when making a PSA encouraging people in the English city to get vaccinated.
Well, to be specific, they thought of an actor named James Martin who bears a decent resemblance to Kit Harington and who has the Jon Snow voice pretty down. Watch him make his pitch below:
“People of this city,” Jon begins. “Manchester’s winter is coming. And the best way to protect ourselves and others is to be fully vaccinated.”
To prepare for winter, we must have both COVID jabs. Have your COVID booster when asked, have a flu jab, stay home when asked. Keep up with regular testing.
And naturally, he signs off as “Manchester’s Jon Snow, King Of The North.” Well, I’m convinced.
Jon Snow actor got his COVID shot in full costume
For the record, Martin wore his Jon Snow costume while waiting to get his shot at a town hall walk-in vaccination center, according to the Manchester Evening News. He said the vaccine “was quick and easy and absolutely nothing to worry about.”
Will any of the characters from HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series have the cultural cache to be used in PSAs one day? We’re getting closer to finding out:
