This is a montage of my favourite character from the TV series ‘Game of Thrones’. Margaery Tyrell (played by Natalie Dormer) is hungry for power, but at the same time her heart is in the right place. When she becomes betrothed to “monster” Joffrey, Margaery uses her quick wit and charm to challenge Cersei, Joffrey’s key advisor and mother, and tries to subtly teach Joffrey that the most effective rule comes from being loved rather than feared. However it’s not easy to suck out all of the poison from a toxic snake. Margaery’s character is ambitious yet kind, and her intelligent way of handling situations and manipulation of other characters results in her character being one of the most interesting in the show.

  1. The TV version of Margaery is infinitely more interesting than the version in the books. I am not a fan of all the chances they have made, but this one was brilliant.

I have been a besotted fan of Natalie Dormer since The Tudors.

  2. @winterland A whore is a prostitute… That's the EXACT definition… Margery isn't a prostitute, if you haven't noticed. I can guess you are a guy who doesn't believe in womans rights… She isn't trying to score Joffery she is trying to score the throne like EVERY OTHER PERSON, which most are dying, because they've chosen war and battle. She just has a different way of doing it.. Manipulating, seduction.. etc. She doesn't have dragons she can use to win the throne.

  3. Yes…

Her behavior towards Joffrey to try and secure power, comfort, and status can only be described as absolutely whorish…. this is beyond dispute…

If a girl were to try and get herself married to Bill Gates by flaunting her tits (wearing little clothing), being dishonest and flattering… then she like Margery would have to be described as a whore trying to score…

  4. I have to say, George Martin writes the best female characters I've ever read. All the important ones are so well developed, whether you hate or love them, they're meant to be that way and stay true to their character.

  5. Well no one in the books or the show is ment to be a saint.
Margaery is a player of the game of thrones. And she is good at it. You can't be a "good person" by modern standards while playing the game of thrones and being good at it.
