Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is right around the corner, and fans are excited to see what HBO has in store for them. However, one thing is for certain, fans are the most excited about all the amazing dragons, who were displayed in full glory in the new teaser trailer. Former Doctor Who Matt Smith is playing the role of Prince Daemon Targaryen on the show, one of the key players in the story of House of The Dragon. And his dragon, Caraxes, is going to be one of the meanest, biggest, and baddest beasts in the series.

Smith is in awe of his majestic dragon, explaining how his beast connects with his character. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he talked about his own character being really volatile in nature. As the popular Westerosi saying goes, “Every time a Targaryen is born, the Gods flip a coin.” But for Daemon, Smith says, “It hasn’t quite hit the ground yet. And until it’s final doom, [we won’t] find out which side he’s on.”

Smith describes his dragon as “a very grumpy, tough, surly sort.” Caraxes is constantly annoyed, but Daemon loves that about him. “He’s like a huge rabid dog, in many ways, who only calms and soothes around Daemon,” Smith says. “He’s almost an untrainable dragon in many respects.”

In many ways, Caraxes represents Daemon’s personality, and his relationship with his brother, Viserys. Are you excited to see Caraxes and Daemon in House of The Dragon? Talk to us in the comments below!
