Matt Smith has been currently in the news for quite some time, primarily due to the leaks from the set of House of The Dragon. He rose to fame as the eleventh incarnation of Doctor Who, and when he portrayed the role of a young Prince Philip on Netflix’s royal drama The Crown, it foreshadowed how perfect he will be as the Rogue Prince Daemon Targaryen in the Game of Thrones prequel. He recently talked to Looper in an exclusive interview, teasing what we can expect from his upcoming projects, both really huge, namely MCU’s Morbius, and House of The Dragon.

When asked about Morbius, Smith said it was a bit of both, a superhero movie and a horror story. “Well, I think it’s a bit of both,” he says. “It’s a horror and superhero movie. Also in many ways, it plays out as a quite contained family drama on some level as well, but with flying vampires and bloodlust and all that sort of stuff, and a few scares along the way. Very excited for that to come out, actually.”

House of The Dragon star Matt Smith calls Caraxes ‘a real moody bastard'

As for House of the Dragon, which Smith says is still filming, he pointed out what’s going to be different from Game of Thrones.

“Obviously … there’s dragons and swords and all of the intrigue and dastardly goings-on that happen in the court of the Targaryens. I suppose fundamentally, it’s a different story. We’re 300 years before ‘Game of Thrones.’ We’re spending time with a smaller group of characters to a certain degree … I think it’s up for other people to decide how they’re similar or different. I just turn up and try and get the lines in the right order.”
