The Game of Thrones franchise is one of the most passionate franchises in the whole wide world, and it has expanded even further with the launch of House of the Dragon. As with any pop culture behemoth, fans love to pit their favorite characters against each other. They have often wondered, what if someone as unkillable as Jon Snow is paired up against the new fan-favorite Daemon Targaryen, and it seems like Matt Smith already knows the answer.

Jon Snow won’t survive Daemon Targaryen

Despite being a morally grey character at best, Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen is both George R.R. Martin’s and House of the Dragon fans’ favorite. Smith, on his recent visit to the LA Comic Con, answered a fan question about the relationship between Jon Snow and Daemon if they were present at the same time. Smith replied, “He wouldn’t be alive for very long.”

Smith is quite aware of the Jon Snow fandom from Game of Thrones, and his reply was a subtle jab at his apparent invincibility owing to his alleged plot armor, that keeps him alive in impossible situations.

Targaryens are better than Starks

At the Comic Con, Smith truly let his inner Daemon out. In response to a fan’s question about which other House he would want to belong to if he wasn’t a Targaryen, he said, “What kind of question is that? Who wants to be a Stark? We’ve got dragons and blonde hair, we’re the best! Targaryen all the way baby.”

“It’s the same with The Greens and The Blacks. No, no, no, there’s only one side to be on and it’s ours!”
