Game of Thrones fans have showered the prequel House of the Dragon with a lot of love and just like its predecessor, dishing out characters, storylines, and everything else that makes it so engaging. The civil war Dance of the Dragons has not officially begun yet, and fans have been taking sides from the beginning of the show. Even the show’s director Clare Kilner and writer Sara Hess know about this growing thirst for grey characters, especially for Daemon Targaryen, and they were quite astounded by it.

Though written off as a morally grey character, Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen has managed to earn a nomination at the Critics Choice Super Awards 2023. House of The Dragon has nabbed multiple nominations at the Critics Choice Super Awards, that includes Daemon as the Best Villain in a fantasy series, Matt Smith for the Best Actor in a fantasy series, and Milly Alcock (young Rhaenyra) as the Best Actress in a fantasy series. The show itself has been nominated as the Best Fantasy series.

It is interesting that Daemon has been nominated as a villain at the Critics Choice Super Awards, when Martin has repeatedly made it clear that none of his characters are as simple as black or white. Do you think Daemon Targaryen is a villain in House of The Dragon? Tell us in the comments below!
