A new gripping thriller is coming to the BBC later this year, following on from the hugely popular Line of Duty and Bodyguard series.
Showtrial, as it’s been named by the BBC, will take a look at how politics, prejudice and the media warp the legal process.
Doctor Who stars Sharon D Clarke and Tracy Ifeachor appear in the six-part series, as does Game of Thrones actor Kerr Logan.

Tracy Ifeachor
Tracy Ifeachor will play solicitor, Cleo Roberts, in the upcoming Showtrial series.
Fans may recognise her as Abigail Naismith in the Christmas and New Year specials of the BBC series Doctor Who, when David Tennant played the title character.
That wasn’t her inaugural TV stint, however, as she made her first TV appearance on hospital drama, Casualty, playing the role of Lila for one episode.
Since then, she’s played roles in The Originals, Crossbones, Treadstone and Quantico.
James Frain
James Frain has been announced as part of the casting line-up for the BBC’s Showtrial legal series.
He can currently be seen in the hit TV series Star Trek: Discovery, playing the character called Sarek.
Prior to that, he had a main role in the crime drama Gotham, the investigative series True Detective and in the thriller Orphan Black. He has also played a role in the BBC miniseries, the White Queen.
Sharon D Clarke
Sharon D Clarke has been confirmed to be part of the casting line-up for the BBC series, Showtrial.
She is probably best known for her role in the medical drama, Holby City, where she played the role of Lola Griffin.
Apart from that, she has appeared in many TV shows, including roles on hit BBC soap EastEnders and crime drama The Bill.
In 2008, Clarke took on a judging role in the hit talent show competition Last Choir Standing, alongside Russell Watson and Suzi Digby. The show aired on BBC One for one series.
Celine Buckens
Celine Buckens plays the protagonist, Talitha Campbell, in the series which is due to air later this year.
She is probably best known to fans of the Netflix series Free Rein, where she plays Amelia MacDonald.
However, she also made an appearance in the Netflix book adaptation Bridgerton, playing the role of Kitty Langham.
Kerr Logan
Kerr Logan has been cast in the BBC Showtrial series.
Fans of Game of Thrones will recognise the Northern Ireland-born actor after he starred as Matthos Seaworth in the hugely popular series.
But that’s not all he’s been in. Logan has also played roles in thriller Strike, medical drama Holby City and miniseries The Spectacular.
Lolita Chakrabarti
Lolita Chakrabarti has been announced in the casting line-up of the BBC’s upcoming series, Showtrial.
Fans will recognise her if they’re planning to watch hit BBC series Vigil, as she has been signed up to play the role of Erin Branning.
She is also set to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video show Wheel of Time. Her other acting credits include the Netflix series Criminal UK.
Sinead Keenan
Sinead Keenan has been cast in a role in the BBC series, Showtrial.
She is otherwise known for appearing in Care, Little Boy Blue and Three Families.
