“The Iron Throne” is one of the most talked-about series finales in a very long time. A lot of fans were less than pleased, but it still resulted in lots of hilarious memes, jokes, and parodies. Some things never change.
A lot of these are hilarious. Take a look at this one from Reddit. One has to wonder, how did the Dothraki and Unsullied in the back hear her?
Bran became king, finally revealing the real meaning behind the prophecy Maggy the Frog delivered to Cersei when she was a child:
Or maybe it was Daenerys? We’re pretty sure this is right.
But you know what got everyone’s attention the most? Not who ended up ruling Westeros, not what happened to Daenerys, but how in the hell Robin Arryn grew up to be so damn sexy. SYFY Wire shared some of the best fan reactions:
If I’m being honest, I thought I was alone in finding Robin Arryn attractive, given that well into his childhood he was still suckling on his mother’s breast. Thank you, internet, for reassuring me.
One of the most mesmerizing scenes from “The Iron Throne” came when Drogon spread his wings right behind Dany, making her look like a true Dragon Queen. Twitter was a fan:
That’s a good enough point, but as The A.V. Club pointed chronicled, that tweet soon snowballed into a good old fashioned meme-splosion
Oh, the internet, never change.
Speaking of which, it’s a widely known fact that people love to name their babies after their favorite characters. In fact, according to The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert, approximately 4,500 American babies were named after Game of Thrones characters in 2018 alone, with 14 of them being named Theon. Awkward.
Maybe people ought to wait until a show concludes and a character’s arc ends before giving their children Game of Thrones names. You know, just in case the character ends up torching innocent civilians.
In other video things, Jack Black — who is a YouTuber now, if you hadn’t heard — messes around with his Longclaw foam sword while singing his own rendition of the Game of Thrones theme song:
And then there’s a bunch of stuff about creams and lotions, but the intro stands.
Jonathan Van Ness is here for the series finale of Gay of Thrones, with guest appearances by the rest of the Queer Eye crew, plus Celeste Barber in the chair. Van Ness kicks the episode off by describing King’s Landing as a “burnt cinnamon sugar Poptart” and it’s just delightful from there on out.
My personal favorite comedic reviewer? Ozzy Man.
You know just as the credits are about to roll on a movie and then it tells us what happens with the main characters? This is that, but for Game of Thrones:
Of course, we can’t forget about all the “Bran was useless and cashed in at the end” jokes, Including this one:
And finally, some nightmare fuel for the road:
Thanks, Thrones! For the tears and the laughs.
