Michael Fassbender is living his best life ahead of St Patrick’s Day as he joins Game of Thrones’ Liam Cunningham and Dylan McGrath in Ireland to celebrate.

Paddy’s Day, always on 17 March, is most certainly the day to turn up in the name of all things to do with Ireland.

So of course, Michael – the Irish-German actor married to Tomb Raider actress Alicia Vikander – enjoyed a day out with the boys in Dublin on Saturday ahead of the public holiday.

The 40-year-old was joined in the Irish capital with Davos Seaworth actor Liam Cunningham, 57, and chef Dylan McGrath, 41, as they painted the city red – or should we say green – in the name of the cultural holiday.

The trio kept things low-key in casual clothing with Mike even covering his head with a cap and hiding behind some dark shades.

It wasn’t enough for us to not notice the Oscar-nominee and Hollywood star casually walking around with one of the most popular faces on Game Of Thrones.

Elsewhere Joe Jonas, of the one and only Jonas Brothers, also joined in on the fun with an Instagram post.

The singer shared a photo of himself wearing a green shirt with the caption: ‘Ready for St. Paddy’s Day like…’.

But the holiday isn’t only being celebrated in Ireland – in case you missed it – the world has turned a little bit green.

The annual Irish holiday has become a big tradition even outside of Ireland as people drink Guinness, feast on traditional food and hold parades celebrating Irish culture.

Ireland has a public holiday each year to commemorate the day, while celebrations are also held in the UK, US, Canada and Switzerland, as well as in Asian countries including Japan, South Korea and Malyasia.

It is one of the most common festivals in the world after Irish immigration saw people take the tradition with them and it has come to represent Irish pride.

There is even going to be a parade in London today for those willing to brave the unpredictable weather.

This year’s theme for the 17th annual celebration is #LondonIsOpen, and people from all backgrounds are being encouraged to come and enjoy the festival.

There will be six hours of live entertainment and many attendees are likely to be dressing up in green and covered in clovers.
