There is no smoke without fire. Since the pilot episode of the much loved House of the Dragon, viewers have sensed a romantic tone underlying the relationship of Princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicent Hightower. Hence, not much to our surprise, the two actors playing the aforementioned characters felt like they could share a kiss after filming a scene in episode 4.

In the scene, the former best friends, who lost their friendship due the politics of the Red Keep reconnect while sitting together on a bench.
In a joint interview with The New York Times, Milly Alcock and Emily Carey shared their experience.
“I remember in rehearsal at the end of the scene, we were like, ‘Did you feel like we were about to kiss?’ Carey asked Alcock. “And I was like, ‘Yeah!” Alcock added. “Yeah, dude, it felt like we were going to kiss,” Carey continued. “That was really strange.”
She further added, that their relationship is “just a closeness between two young women that cannot be verbalized, especially in the world they live in.” “I don’t think they fully understand the feelings; it’s just all-consuming love,” she said.
In a previous interview Carey, shared that her initial insight from the script reading was that Rhaenyra and Alicent are “a little bit in love with each other, which she even shared with Clare Kilner, one of the directors.
The two have left it to the audience to perceive their relationship.
