It would appear as if Winterfell has become an unending source of potential SPOILERS, as production continues to film scenes at the set in Moneyglass, Northern Ireland, for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.
Before we continue, however, this is your last chance to turn back, should you wish to avoid this particular SPOILER.
Still here? Great, let’s get into it. According to a source at Wiki of Thrones, a battle between two sides took place, and they might not be who you would expect. The source notes a group of Unsullied had surrounded Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, and they attacked him, with The Hound obviously fighting back.
Now, it is very important to remember this is an unsubstantiated rumor, as the source cannot be confirmed, but it does raise certain questions.
The foremost question should be: Why is a group of Unsullied who are loyal to Daenerys Targaryen attacking The Hound who is, in his own way, loyal to Jon Snow…or at the very least House Stark? We’ve seen reports that Winterfell appeared to be on fire at one point during filming, and it has been assumed the Night King would march his army of the dead to the ancestral home of House Stark in order to take out his nemesis Jon Snow, but does that explain this new report?
With 400-500 extras on hand outside the gates of Winterfell, could The Hound be fighting a group of Unsullied wights? Could Jon and Daenerys have a falling out once she learns he’s really Aegon Targaryen and rightful heir to the Iron Throne, and The Hound is taking up Jon’s banner? Did Hot Pie really save a ton of money by switching to Geico? WE NEED ANSWERS NOW!
Of course, The Hound could simply be doing what he does best, getting under the skin of everyone he meets and generally being an intolerable curmudgeon, so for now, we’ll just have to wait and see how this story unfolds in the coming days.
