Sad part is for 17 years he took the shame of a bastard, and Catelyn died believing he was unfaithful
Holy crap this scene means so much more now.
damn, seeing these two separate and knowing what they are gonna go through in the coming years is crazy…
Ned: You are a Stark.
Lyanna: Damn it Ned, hes Aegon Targaryen!
—
Also I think the reason why Ned let Jon go take the Black because if time comes and he tells him (or his friend Robert) of his true heritage of being the legitimate claimant of the throne, Jon would not even care anymore since he already took the vows of the Watch, plus Robert would not havr the right to to kill him.
No matter how many times I watch this scene, I get the shills… Ramin Djawadi soundtracks are always on point, it makes it 10 times better.
Anyone ever noticed how Ned's last words to Jon are "I promise" and Lyanna's last words to Ned as she dies, are "Promise me"…? Funny thing, as I remember something about a savior of Westeros, named "The Prince that was promised" GoT ending is all over our faces guys!
The 1 million dollar question is: Was actor Sean Bean told of who Jon's mother is when they were making that scene? He looks genuinely striken in the thought of her. Not a reaction he would have for just a tavern wench.
Jesus Christ Sean Bean can act!
Did Ned almost cry at 0:43 ?
"And you are a Stark" Fuck yeah he'll always be a Stark despite his name
damn it ned
After S6 and S7 final episodes, you watch this and think how good Sean Bean was here. He had to know the truth in order to pull it off so well
"There is great honour serving in the Night's Watch". Err, since when?
Ned Stark. A top bloke. RIP
He needed to wait until Jon joins the Nights Watch so he cannot make any claims to the Iron Throne
North people really do keep their promises god damn it
finished s7 finale and came back to watch this scene
the truth was already in Ned's eyes
i think ned wanted to make jon go to the nights watch and take the vow then tell him his real heritage
"He's the heir to the iron throne…"
Aegon Targaryen
Confirmed
Wow, need knew the truth from the beggining. dude deserves respect
