There are times when the death of a character becomes more talked of than the character itself. Game of Thrones featured some of the most gruesome death scenes ever filmed in television history. However, one of them, though not so gruesome, stood out amongst the rest. The death of Princess Myrcella Baratheon was one of the most emotionally cruel scenes of Game of Thrones, and the one which turned Cersei into a more sadistic character. Actress Nell Tiger Free who played the role was just 15 when she shot the scene, and she perfectly understood the gravity of the situation and executed it flawlessly.

Years later, Nell has blossomed into an amazing artist, and is currently playing an important character in M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she reflected back on her death scene on Game of Thrones:

“There was a lot of gravitas in that episode. I was 15 when I shot that, and there was a lot of pressure. You’re dying on Game of Thrones, and you’ve got to do a good job of it. I was very, very new to the acting world, and it was my first big role as a young woman. I’d done stuff before, but as a younger girl.”

“There was this pressure because Nikolaj was very acclaimed and incredibly well-known on the show. So there was a lot of pressure; there’s pressure in every moment. But Nikolaj was such a nice guy. He was so lovely to me when we were shooting that. But to be honest with you, I don’t want to say it was easy, but it was a relatively comfortable scene to shoot. I’d been preparing for it, and it actually went pretty smoothly.”
