Filming on Game of Thrones’ eighth season has officially kicked into high gear. From filming on the set of Winterfell, to a giant new set being built in Belfast, things are bumping. Now comes more casting news, including the name of a new character in the HBO drama’s final season. SPOILERS and speculation follow this nifty sweater.

Per Watchers on the Wall, actress Danielle Galligan has been cast as a character named “Sarra.” As Watchers notes, the only appearance of the name “Sarra”  in the Song of Ice and Fire novels belongs to one Sarra Frey. Sarra Frey is a granddaughter of the now deceased Walder Frey. So we could be seeing the return of House Frey in some manner, or it could be a completely new and unrelated character.

Next up, Watchers also brings us news that actress Emer McDaid has recently finished filming an unspecified role in season 8 per her Spotlight CV (a sort of LinkedIn for performers). Considering she’s completed filming this early, we’d guess her role is rather minor.

Showing off their deductive reasoning, Watchers also speculates that several other actors and actresses have joined the cast in unspecified roles. First is actress Alice Nokes, who posed with both Galligan and McDaid for a Instagram photo taken in Belfast, tagged ““Aaaaaand that’s a wrap.” Considering McDaid and Galligan’s confirmed roles, Nokes seems likely to appear as well.

And finally,  Northern Ireland’s Independent Agency, cryptically notes “Thomas Finnegan, Conor Maguire, Emer McDaid, Eileen McCloskey and Katie Tumelty join the cast of a major TV series.” Again, McDaid’s confirmed casting might mean the others have joined the cast as well. The agency has cast other roles on Thrones in the past, including Sara Dylan, who played Cersei’s chambermaid, Bernadette.

Will House Frey return in some manner via “Sarra?” Do any of the other performers stand out? Speculate away!
