Following successful festival runs in 2020 despite the pandemic, Undergods has nabbed two British Independent Film Award (BIFA) nominations. Now, the film is set for a simultaneous release next month on VOD and in select theaters, and we have a first look at what to expect.

In addition to Game of Thrones actors Kate Dickie (The Witch) and Burn Gorman (Pacific Rim, Enola Holmes), Undergods stars Ned Dennehy (Mandy, Peaky Blinders), Geza Rohrig (Resistance, Son of Saul), and Tanya Reynolds (Emma., Sex Education).

“This is a collection of uncanny tales that will be released in one of the uncanniest periods of our lifetimes,” says director Chino Moya. “I hope to entertain the audiences as I take them out of their comfort zone.”

The movie seems to have some suspenseful horror elements mixed in with the fantasy and dystopian themes, and the trailer itself is a bit cryptic. We’ve included the poster, trailer, and synopsis below for you to check out for yourselves!

In a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world, K and Z roam the streets on the lookout for corpses and something even more valuable – fresh meat.

What do you guys think of this first look at Undergods? Make sure to sound off in the usual spot!

Fans of post-apocalyptic films should also enjoy our interview with stunt coordinator Joe K. Fidler (The Punisher, The Suicide Squad) talk about his work on Army of the Dead, which we’ve included below.

Undergods will receive a simultaneous theatrical, cable & Digital VOD release on May 7th.
