Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been under fire ever since the Season 8 plot went to a place where the fans didn’t like it going. We have seen them being Google-bombed into being the top result for “bad writers” on Google, and we have seen fans planning to boo them at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, ever since their presence at the Hall H panel for Game of Thrones was announced. Now it seems like the pair have pulled out of the panel at the last minute. Read on!

The panel was recently announced, to be held in Hall H, on 19th July, at 5.30 p.m. The confirmed attendees included Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), along with David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.

A new update now says that the two showrunners will not appear, and additionally, Iain Glen, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Miguel Sapochnik seem to have also called off their appearances. The reason cited seems to be scheduling conflicts, but the fans just won’t buy it.

The fan reactions have been extreme, with most of the fanbase being mad about the fact that the showrunners are avoiding a confrontation. The panel will continue with other stars listed on the panel and is scheduled to occur in a few hours from now.
