Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) may have figured out the best way to give the slip to paparazzi. I mean, how many times can he talk about the blowback to the final season of Game of Thrones? Yes, he knows a lot of people had problems with it, but he’s got places to be, people.

Let me explain. Coster-Waldau shared a story while talking to Jimmy Kimmel about a recent interaction he had, and it’s hilarious/tragic. While waiting for a drink at a coffee place, a man shoved a camera into his face and asked how he felt about the final season.

Instead of answering the question, Coster-Waldau pulled a Lannister move and pawned the guy off on a stranger who was standing nearby — or maybe Coster-Waldau was talking to him beforehand, I dunno. Is he the barista? Anyway, he obviously had some strong thoughts about how the show betrayed George R.R. Martin’s vision in its final season, which gave Coster-Waldau the chance to slip out of there.

Coster-Waldau followed up on Twitter a bit later:

I don’t know why I find the whole thing hilarious. You have to get creative sometimes!

So was this mean or funny? The court of public opinion if now is now in session.
